The seminar focuses on teaching songs, singing techniques and ornaments from different regions of Greece. Emphasis will be placed on the idioms of each region, both musically and linguistically, by analyzing melodic phrases and exercises from the songs themselves.

Katerina will address pronunciation and articulation issues in this seminar, with special adaptation for non-Greek speakers. Participants will also have the opportunity to examine the differences between group and individual singing, between classical and popular songs through examples, as well as the "journey" of songs from place to place and the subsequent change in their function and character. Modern and ancient styles of singing will be practiced.

The seminar will conclude with a presentation concert featuring musicians from the ECHOS Project Ensemble, the first professional ensemble for eastern music in Styria, in which all participants can take part.
